Family life in the UAE is a calendar problem as much as a school problem: heat, weekends, and how far you are willing to drive for a good hour.
The heat
Plan outdoor hours around early morning and dusk for much of the year. Indoor attractions, malls, and museums are not a compromise — they are the climate.
Weekends
A short drive to Sharjah, Ajman, or Hatta is often a better family day than another tower. Keep one “easy” plan and one “leave the city” plan.
What people get wrong
Booking outdoor birthday parties at noon in June. Assuming every “kids club” is licensed. Underestimating school commute time across emirates.
Ratings to bookmark
KHDA for Dubai schools, ADEK for Abu Dhabi, MOE for federal schools. Nurseries: check municipality registration and visit unannounced if you can.
